Tom wrote this song after seeing ‘Loud Quiet Loud’, a documentary about the Pixies. The lyrics of Eternal Woman are about the quest for everlasting love and the title comes from a Hans Bellmer painting Tom received from his mother. He invited Lies Lorquet, who sings and plays the bass in Belgian band Mintzkov, to sing on this song because she’s got that 1990’s, Kim Deal kind of voice that Tom was looking for.

Let’s build a cult of two
Like a cop that needs a clue
I want to infiltrate in you

These are the words that have done
A bit of shut-eye in my mind
It wouldn’t hurt to want to speak ’em out some time

Those days were full of smoke
From the minute I awoke
Oh it felt like I would choke

Maybe I’m too romantic
These expectations I should quell
But I would rather drown with you
Than watch the surf with someone else

E-T-E-R-N-A-L
Eternal woman are you listening well?
Eternal woman are you breaking this spell?

Oh and blessed are the meek
Yeah the ones that you don’t see
I bet they never lose their keys

Maybe I’m made for roaming
Or floating around in shackled dreams
It’s not about where you’re going
But where you feel you already should have been

E-T-E-R-N-A-L
Eternal woman are you listening well?
Eternal woman are you breaking this spell?

Eternal wonder is all I want
Aim for the stars
If it’s waning
You go it alone
