Tom about pop-icons and postmodernism

There was a nice interview (registration needed) with Tom in Flemish newspaper De Tijd this week. It’s not really about Following Sea, but Tom is talking about his view on the music business and his future. The sudden release of  Following Sea was a great thing for Tom, because he didn’t want to give 3.000 interviews to talk about the album. Furthermore, he agrees music business has changed a lot and bands have the need to release their albums quicker, because there’s always a next big thing.

He says that they really need the money they make from playing gigs, because a lot of people are download their music illegal. He doesn’t believe albums will disappear, because they tell a story. He also says musicians should not write political manifests.
